XCommunies exists because X removed Communities on April 2, 2026. Developer Nikita Bier ran a poll; most voters were fine seeing Communities go, citing low engagement. For many of us, those spaces still mattered — they were where real conversations happened. XCommunies is an independent, community-built replacement: public communities, a familiar feed, and room to keep the threads alive.
